עד סוף כיתה ה' ילד שלומד אנגלית בצורה טובה אמור לשלוט בכ-600 מילים פעילות. 200 מהן הן ה"חובה המוחלטת" — הן מופיעות בכל מבחן, בכל ספר קריאה, בכל סרטון. הכנו את הרשימה המלאה, מסודרת לפי 10 נושאים, עם תרגום ודוגמה במשפט מלא לכל מילה — בדיוק כמו שהילד שלכם ישתמש בהן בכיתה.
למה דווקא 200 מילים?
מחקרים בתחום רכישת שפה שניה מראים שילד שמכיר את 200 המילים הנפוצות ביותר באנגלית — מסוגל להבין כ-70% מהטקסטים היומיומיים שהוא פוגש. בתכנית הלימודים של משרד החינוך, כיתה ה' היא השנה שבה ילדים עוברים מ"לימוד מילים" ל"שימוש במילים": הבנת הנקרא עולה דרגה, כתיבת משפטים מלאים הופכת לחובה, והמבחנים כבר בודקים הבנה — לא רק זיהוי.
ילד שמגיע לכיתה ה' עם 200 המילים האלה שגורות בפה — מרים יד, עונה, וחוסך לעצמו (ולכם) שעות של תסכול. זה לא מדע טילים: זו השקעה של 10 דקות ביום, 20 מילים בשבוע, 10 שבועות — וזהו.
אם הילד שלכם עוד בכיתה ג' או ד', כדאי להתחיל עם 100 המילים שכל ילד חייב לדעת לפני כיתה ה' — הרשימה הבסיסית יותר שבנינו.
איך משתמשים ברשימה הזאת?
- 20 מילים בשבוע — שלא לפחד. עשרה שבועות ורשימה מלאה. זה אפשרי לגמרי.
- מילה אחת בארוחת ערב. הגידו אותה ביחד, תרגמו, תנסו משפט — וזהו. חמש דקות מקסימום.
- חזרה אחרי שבוע (Spaced Repetition). אל תמשיכו הלאה לפני שמחזירים את השבוע הקודם. המוח זוכר בגלל חזרות, לא בגלל כמות.
- תמיד במשפט מלא — לא לבד. "dog" זה לא מילה שימושית. "My dog is very fast" — זה כבר אנגלית אמיתית.
